i need a heart-change from God

I am stuck in the dripping faucet rut. I am still not willing to let go of the small things like dropping crumbs on the table, not washing hands and leaving the gate open with nobody around.

I just cannot get around to the fact that we all live differently and have different habits and ideas of what is ok — and that they are not either right and wrong. Just different.

So until Day 60, I shall have one focus and remember this advice:

“A wife, if she is very generous, may allow that her husband lives up to perhaps eighty percent of her expectations. There is always the other twenty percent that she would like to change, and she may chip away at it for the whole of their married life without reducing it by very much. She may, on the other hand, simply decide to enjoy the eighty percent, and both of them will be happy.” — Lars Gren (Elisabeth Elliot’s husband)

More than just a word-change, a heart-change, which only God can give, is what I really need. Hopefully by 12 December (our first year anniversary!) I would have happy changes to report.
